The Show

Bad Dad is a semi-autobiographical show that chronicles the trials and tribulations of becoming a first-time father. It is a gloriously funny, brutally honest account of Dingli's experience as a father so far.

Bad Dad is written and performed by Chris Dingli

In September 2014, actor and comedian Chris Dingli became a dad. This is the story about how utterly unprepared he was for this experience.

This sell-out show has proved to be an audience and critical hit.

As one London reviewer who gave the show 5 stars put it, “If you never wanted a child, go see this show. If you always wanted a child, go see this show. If you couldn’t care less about children, go see this show – you will still walk out entertained!”

Described by The Times of Malta as “one of the most side-splittingly funny and entertaining performances I have seen in a long time”, this Maltese export received rave reviews in London, when The Reviews Hub remarked that “even an anecdote about his daughter’s vomit becomes both chucklesome and charming in equal measure”.

Now how can you resist that?

Well-known in his native Malta, Chris Dingli is the writer and star of The Comedy Knights and co-creator of the enormously successful Dingle Bells Malcolm Smells.

His recent credits include Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Doctors on BBC 1, and I Was a Rat! with Birmingham Rep.

As an actor and comedian, Chris has travelled all over the UK  - he spent the last 11 years in London - and has performed in Spain, Norway, Italy, Malta and Guernsey (of all places).

Bad Dad's world premiere was at the Blue Box Theatre at MSpace on 7 November 2015.

It was supported by XFM100.2, writemeanything.com and Early Learning Centre.

Bad Dad premiered in London at Ye Olde Rose & Crown Theatre on 26 May 2016.

Bad Dad London performances were produced in association with All Star Productions and were supported by the Travel Grants, Cultural Export Fund managed by Arts Council Malta.
